BioGaia is thrilled to announce its selection as a finalist in the much-coveted Clean + Conscious Awards 2025. Now in its seventh year, the awards are a celebration of brands with exceptional ethical and sustainability standards across Australian and New Zealand.
BioGaia was able to stand out amongst 580 products across more than 110 categories as a leader in safety, sustainability, social responsibility, quality, and performance. Protectis Probiotic Baby Drops is one of the brand’s star performers with patented active ingredient L. reuteri having featured in more than 250 clinical trials involving 22,000 people, equating to three decades’ worth of research.
As the gold standard of infant colic relief, Protectis enjoys a cult status amongst parents, selling more than 100 million bottles worldwide. Now available in Australia, the formula is quickly gaining traction as a viable remedy to easing infant colic and supporting overall gut health in babies and children.
“We’re so honoured to be recognised as a finalist amongst so many other strong values-driven brands,” says Sonia Gouveia, ANZ Marketing Director at BioGaia. “At BioGaia it has always been our core mission to create a positive impact on people and the planet by supporting human health with science-backed solutions.
“We continue to maintain a strong commitment to ethical practices, environmental stewardship, and social impact in every aspect of our brand from the rigorousness of our scientific research to the quality and provenance of our probiotics.”
Finalists are independently trialled and selected by an expert panel of 85 industry leaders across wellness, sustainability, media, and parenting including iconic changemakers Kelley Sheehan (Peppermint Magazine) Kathryn Nelson (Plastic Free Mermaid), Danielle Blunt (Eco Warrior), Nina Gbor (Circular Economy Director + Sustainability Educator), Sarah Berry (Sydney Morning Herald) and Ellie Degreaves (Go for Zero), and many more.
Each of the products have been chosen for their ability to combine performance and purpose with care for people and the planet and have been individually and extensively tested by the panel of experts.
Founded by qualified optometrist Emily Fletcher who herself has advanced degrees in pharmacology and chemistry, the Clean + Conscious Awards were created to fight back greenwashing in the market. With its own independent and diligent processes in place to vet the safety and sustainability of products, the awards along with their founder have become a respected voice in the clean and conscious movement.
Sonia Gouveia says, “To be awarded as a finalist by the Clean + Conscious Awards is so affirming that values matter and that we all have a part to play in shaping a more conscious and ethical world. We look forward to seeing the full list of winners and want to congratulate our fellow finalists who are in solidarity with us on this incredible journey to a cleaner and more sustainable tomorrow.”
Winners will be announced in July 2025.
