As part of B Corp Month, we are proud to announce that Blooms The Chemist Port Coogee has become a B Corp Certified company, joining nearly 750 Australian and Aotearoa New Zealand purpose-led businesses working towards a more inclusive, equitable and regenerative economy.
The B Corp Certification of Blooms The Chemist Port Coogee marks a significant milestone for community pharmacies across Australia.
Blooms The Chemist Port Coogee, which is independently owned and operated, started its B Corp journey in 2023 and achieved a B Impact Assessment score of 88.9. The median score for ordinary businesses who complete the assessment is currently 50.9.
The Certification acknowledges that Blooms The Chemist Port Coogee has met the rigorous standards of B Corp Certification, demonstrating high social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency.
This is a reflection of the store’s values and commitment to people and planet, alongside profit, and aligns with Blooms The Chemist Port Coogee’s purpose of delivering expert care and service to help improve the health and lives of the community.
In 2025, Blooms The Chemist Port Coogee partnered with Pharmacycle to divert over 140kgs of medical blister pack waste (which is equivalent to 90,000 individual blister packs) from landfill. For the sixth consecutive year, Port Coogee sponsored local sporting events, including the Christmas 10km Swim and the Jetty to Jetty Swim, as well as their local futsal club.
These initiatives demonstrate Blooms The Chemist Port Coogee’s commitment to community and the environment, in addition to contributing towards the B Impact Assessment.
Blooms The Chemist Port Coogee Pharmacist-owner Andria Aird and incoming Pharmacist-owner Esterita Causerano both acknowledge that becoming a B Corp Certified business is an incredible achievement.
Aird said: “This is a testament to our Pharmacists, staff and customers, who truly care about making a positive impact on our environment and community. We’re honoured to be part of the B Corp community, who are leaders in driving meaningful and sustainable change.
“The Certification helps signal to our partners and customers that we’re passionate about making a real difference in our local community, as well as broader society. Our team looks forward to upholding Blooms The Chemist and B Corp values to provide high-quality care and retail excellence to our Port Coogee community.”

Blooms the Chemist Port Coogee demonstrates how weaving purpose into everyday operations can create meaningful change, and their recent Certification sets a great example for other pharmacies to do the same.”
