GRI-CDP mapping for aligned climate and energy reporting: helping organizations improve data quality and reduce duplication
In support of shared ambitions to enable more coherent and efficient environmental reporting by organizations worldwide, GRI and CDP have released a new resource that maps CDP’s 2025 corporate questionnaire and the recently released GRI Climate Change and Energy Standards.
The new GRI-CDP mapping builds on an ongoing collaboration between the two organizations – formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2023 – and will help companies reduce duplication while strengthening the consistency and usefulness of the data they share with stakeholders.
The mapping tracks how disclosures under the GRI 102: Climate Change 2025 and GRI 103: Energy 2025 can be used to align with CDP’s environmental datapoints. Providing clarity on where the two frameworks complement and converge, it supports organizations to apply the principle of ‘write once, read many’, by utilizing the same data across both disclosure systems.

The mapping will be presented during the joint webinar Unlocking synergies to streamline climate disclosure on 28 October 2025 (10:00 CEST). This free session will guide participants through the mapping’s structure, explain how it supports consistent environmental disclosure, and feature experts from both organizations.
