The Energy Efficiency Council (EEC) has welcomed the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) to join the EEC as an Industry Leader member, recognising that finance is vital to helping households access efficiency and electrification technologies.
The EEC Industry Leader membership is open to organisations that demonstrate a deep commitment to accelerating Australia’s transition to an efficient, electric and flexible energy system. As an industry leader, members play a pivotal role by engaging in the EEC’s strategic agenda, supporting cross-sector collaboration, and championing the acceleration of demand side opportunities that will underpin a prosperous, net zero Australia.
CBA’s Environmental and Social Lead, Retail Bank, Ben Brazier said, “Joining the EEC demonstrates our commitment to helping customers and supporting Australia’s transition.
“As Australia’s largest home lender, we support the EEC’s efforts to accelerate the market to take advantage of energy-efficiency opportunities in their homes.
Luke Menzel, CEO of the Energy Efficiency Council said, “CBA’s decision to join the Energy Efficiency Council reflects the significant effort both our organisations have been making to build momentum for efficient, electric homes. Finance has a crucial role in getting efficiency and electrification technologies into people’s homes so they can start driving down their energy bills. We’re looking forward to working with CBA to scale up this market.”
