Sustainability innovators in the state of Victoria have just two weeks until entries close for this year’s Premier’s Sustainability Awards.
CEO of Sustainability Victoria, Stan Krpan, has encouraged all Victorians who have demonstrated environmental leadership to enter this year’s awards.
“The Premier’s Sustainability Awards showcase organisations, institutions, businesses, community groups and individuals who demonstrate practical efforts to reduce their everyday environmental impact,” Mr Krpan said.
This year the awards provide even more opportunities for recognition.
Entries are open in nine categories: Cleaner Yarra and Bay (a new category), Community, Education, Environmental Protection, Infrastructure and Buildings, Innovative Products or Services, Large Business, Small and Medium Enterprises, and Tourism.
In addition to these awards, the Premier of Victoria, Dr Denis Napthine will select two overall winners: the Premier’s Recognition Award and the Premier’s Regional Recognition Award.
Mr Krpan said he looked forward to seeing high calibre entries that showcased the important sustainability work happening across Victoria.
“
A cleaner and more sustainable Victoria depends on all of us, government, business, and individuals, being aware of how our actions impact our environment and each of us playing our part,” he said.
“The Premier’s Sustainability Awards celebrate that involvement and provide valuable profile and recognition for the finalists and winners by helping to tell their sustainability stories.”
The awards ceremony will be held on October 2 at Peninsula, Docklands, Melbourne.
Entries close on June 2 and finalists will be announced in early September.
