New impact and sustainability platform builds on the League’s founding principles and mission to grow the game and make it more accessible worldwide
LIV Golf, the global golf league blending world-class competition with entertainment and culture to grow the game worldwide, today announced the launch of LIV For Good, a comprehensive three-pillar impact and sustainability platform designed to transform lives through the power of golf. With one million youth already impacted to date through the League’s work across the globe, LIV For Good formalizes LIV Golf’s long-term vision for meaningful, measurable change across three interconnected pillars: Game, Community, and Planet.
“The values of LIV For Good epitomize the same mission this League has held since day one—to grow the game of golf around the world,” said Scott O’Neil, CEO of LIV Golf. “LIV For Good showcases our commitment to increasing access to golf, setting new environmental standards, and expanding the game’s reach at the grassroots level and beyond the fairways. As a global League, we’re able to implement these values and this work in our host markets across five continents and 10 countries, and I’m excited to continue to deliver on our mission for years to come.”
The announcement marks a pivotal moment for professional golf’s sustainability and social impact landscape. LIV Golf has pledged to impact five million youth by 2032 and achieve net-zero status by 2040. In addition, LIV Golf will drive programming and initiatives across its three strategic pillars:
Game: Create new opportunities to play and work in golf
Getting golf clubs into more hands across the globe by removing barriers and creating opportunities to bring golf to new audiences and ensure golf is a game for everyone. Each year, the League will introduce 15,000 youth around the world to the game for the first time.
LIV Golf will deliver on this goal through global and local partnerships such as the R&A’s Women in Golf charter, ROSHN Rising Stars, Midnight Golf, and the Muslim Golf Association. In addition to external partnerships, LIV Golf will continue to work with its Teams to support individual youth golf programs, like Little Sticks by Majesticks Golf Club, My Golf powered by Ripper GC, and the Southern Guards GC Academy Programme.
Community: Strengthen communities using the power and values of golf
LIV Golf believes that by using the values of golf and harnessing the power of sport for development, it can help strengthen communities. Each year, the League will impact 400,000 youth through educational programs and initiatives.
This work is led by its global partnerships with Discovery Education, which co-produces innovative educational resources to help youth explore STEM subjects through golf; and the UN Refugee Agency, which co-developed the first “Golf for Protection Playbook,” which creates safe spaces and delivers sport-based programming that helps individuals and communities recover from trauma and rebuild a sense of stability.
Planet: Deliver the most sustainable golf events in the world
As the first golf league, tour or major body to achieve ISO 20121 certification for Sustainable Event Management from the British Standards Institution (BSI), LIV Golf is a leader in international standards for sustainable event management. Building on the 13 GEO-certifications
LIV Golf continues to work collaboratively with BSI and independent auditors to rigorously track its carbon emissions, working with local partners across our 14 global events to donate materials that can be repurposed, waste diversion, food donation, and composting and recycling resources, to progress towards zero-waste events and net-zero status.
“These are not aspirations; they are targets with timelines and transparent reporting that push our League, our industry, and the sports landscape as a whole to do more,” said Jake Jones, SVP of Impact and Sustainability, LIV Golf. “In order to grow the game of golf we have to invest in the next generation. We have a powerful opportunity to directly impact the lives of millions of youth, and enable local and global organizations to develop their essential work in communities across the globe. LIV Golf has made tremendous progress over the last few years, and under our new centralized strategy, we can continue to build on this progress for years to come.”
Participants in the “MyGolf powered by Ripper GC” program attend a nature walk around The Grange Golf Club in Adelaide, Australia, to learn about the ecosystems and habitats on golf courses. The program reached nearly 17,000 participants in its first year and aims to reach a further 40,000 participants in 2026.
