With her signature wit and warmth, author and former Australian of the Year finalist Rachel Jayne Cassidy has released two books in the last twelve months, In a Heartbeat and Perfectly Matched, featuring former Perfect Match host Greg Evans. Having survived a critical heart event herself, Rachel Jayne wrote In a Heartbeat through the lens of her unique writing style, influenced by life experiences and her passion for storytelling, to present an authentically raw and compassionate tone to bridge the gap between complex medical information and lived human experience.
“The way Rachel Jayne Cassidy writes her books and how she embraces storytelling is phenomenal. The way she puts the stories together in Perfectly Matched and In a Heartbeat is really incredible,” says face reader Marie Chandler.

Her writing is defined by its deep empathy, emotional resonance, and a commitment to advocacy, in which Rachel Jayne focuses on the power of connection and resilience, aiming to inspire readers while fostering a deeper community understanding of the challenges they face. In a Heartbeat features leading cardiologists from across the country and inspiring stories of heart event survivors who, against all odds, made it through their ordeal to go onto live happy and fulfilling lives.
After the recent launch of Perfectly Matched in the Queen’s Hall at Parliament House Victoria, A/Prof Kushwin Rajamani states, “The launch today for Perfectly Matched was an amazing celebration… It’s so heartwarming that we have people from different backgrounds and different stories, that came together to share these stories in the celebration of love, and this book, Perfectly Matched, does just that: it brings justice to the meaning of love and I’m so happy and proud to be part of it.”
Perfectly Matched and In a Heartbeat are available from all good bookstores, online or you can order the books through your local library.
