WetlandCare Australia is calling on Australians to enter photographs of local wetlands to WCA’s seventh annual Photography Prize.
The Photography Prize has four categories open this year: Wetland Fauna, Wetland Flora, Our Wetlands and Changing Landscapes.
Entering the competition enables Australians to win great prizes and raise awareness about the importance of wetlands.
Several prizes, varying from cash to gift vouchers, will be given to the winning photographers of the competition.
Additionally, the winner of the People’s Choice will be awarded with a waterproof digital camera.
The winning photographs will be displayed on the WetlandCare Australia website, their accompanying Facebook page, and at an exhibition in Townsville, Queensland on World Wetlands Day (February 2, 2014).
The photograph that took out third prize in 2012 was Richard Gates with his photo The Backyard Metamorphosis.
Entries close December 7, 2013.
Major sponsors of the prize include the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage, the Murray-Darling Basin Authority and the Queensland Murray-Darling Committee.
