For the first time members of the public will be able to participate in the Premier’s Sustainability Awards , Victoria’s most prestigious sustainability awards program, by casting a vote for the People’s Choice.
By visiting the People’s Choice website, members of the public can vote for their favourite finalist in one or more of the seven award categories. In addition to the official Premier’s Sustainability Award winners announced on Tuesday 22 October, the People’s Choice in each category will also be revealed.
The People’s Choice does not form part of the official judging of the Premier’s Sustainability Awards.
It has been designed as a way for Victorians who care about sustainability to get involved with the awards program.
There are seven LEDified LED home lighting packs, valued at $500 each, up for grabs as part of the People’s Choice. Winners will be drawn from those who voted for the People’s Choice winner in each category.
Voting for the People’s Choice opens today and closes midnight on Friday 11 October. Cast your vote here .
Now in their 11th year, the Premier’s Sustainability Awards celebrate efficient use of water, resources and energy, better waste management and recycling practices, the enhancement of the environment and effective, practical community action.
Finalists have been chosen in seven categories: Innovative Products or Services, Infrastructure and Buildings, Education, Environmental Protection, Small and Medium Enterprises, Large Business and Community.
Winners will be announced at the awards night on Tuesday 22 October, at Peninsular Shed A, Shed 14, Central Pier, 161 Harbour Esplanade, Docklands.
