Precisely specified 20kW commercial installation cuts Brunswick Aces’ energy bills by nearly 80% and highlights solar’s growing role in small business/food and beverage manufacturing
SolaX Power Australia has completed a solar storage installation at Brunswick Aces, Australia’s first moderation distillery, delivering 100% renewable energy during production operations and reducing the distillery’s overall energy bills by nearly 80%.
The project centred on SolaX’s 20kW X3-Pro-G2 inverter, selected for its high-efficiency energy conversion and precise load-matching capability.
Brunswick Aces operates custom-built stills and a 20kW oil heater at its Brunswick East facility, producing both alcoholic gin and non-alcoholic sapiir — a proprietary range of distilled botanical spirits.
The distillery’s energy demand profile required a system specified exactly to its production load, making precision system design a primary consideration in supplier selection.
After evaluating multiple suppliers, Brunswick Aces selected SolaX for its combination of product performance, system specification support and financing guidance. Installation was completed in two days with no disruption to production operations.
“We went through several suppliers, and it was SolaX that really provided the broad-scale support to implement a project that was exactly right for our needs,” said Stephen Lawrence, Co-Founder and CEO of Brunswick Aces.
“Since we’ve put it in place, we’re proud to say we are now fully renewable and sustainable. We’ve now had our system installed for almost a year, and our only consideration is how do we make more space on the roof for more panels.”
The X3-Pro-G2’s seamless grid integration has ensured uninterrupted production since commissioning, with no monitoring burden on the distillery team.
“SolaX Power Australia empowers Australians to take control of their energy through innovative solar storage solutions,” said Joey Zhang, General Manager of SolaX Power Australia.
“SolaX’s hassle-free energy generation works in the background so the team can focus on distilling — no monitoring required, no stress about whether their system is performing. SolaX simply delivers, morning to night.”
The nearly 80% reduction in energy bills has delivered immediate improvement to cash flow.
The installation reflects growing momentum in the Australian food and beverage manufacturing sector, where rising energy costs are accelerating the adoption of commercial solar.
For businesses and homeowners considering the switch, the timing matters: the federal government’s Cheaper Home Batteries Program changes on 1 May, reducing the per kWh rebate value.
For operators with predictable production loads — such as distilleries, breweries and food processors — solar storage systems offer both an environmental and financial case that is difficult to ignore.
