Paul Vickers
OptiGrid, an Australian battery optimisation and trading intelligence platform that is built for the National Electricity Market (NEM), announced today that it has appointed Paul Vickers as Head of Operations.
Paul brings over two decades of experience working in operations and program management across the retail, technology and energy sectors to OptiGrid. At OptiGrid, he will be responsible for the delivery and performance of OptiGrid’s platform, ensuring it meets customers’ operational, commercial and cybersecurity requirements.
Before joining OptiGrid, Paul was Senior Project Manager at Power and Water Corporation, leading delivery of the Territory Dispatch Engine, a critical infrastructure program valued at over $40 million, to build the automated security-constrained unit commitment and economic dispatch optimisation platform underpinning the Northern Territory’s power system; enabling higher renewable penetration at lowest efficient cost.
For more than six years, Paul was the Operations and Commercial Manager at HARD software, an energy technology and services provider specialising in trading and dispatch systems for solar, wind farms and energy storage in the National Electricity Market. At HARD software, Paul led in product development, technical design and architecture, cybersecurity, regulatory compliance and customer experience. His broader career experience includes senior leadership roles with Woolworths Group, TechnologyOne and APA Group.
