Wyong welcomes new Return and Earn depot

Wyong Return and Earn Depot has been officially launched.

Wyong is now home to a new Return and Earn depot designed to make recycling eligible bottles, cans and cartons easier than ever before.

Operated by St Vincent De Paul Society NSW, the Wyong Return and Earn Depot – the 31st return point in the Central Coast Council area – was officially opened with a celebration attended by local stakeholders and community groups.

The staffed depot can process up to 100 containers a minute, without the need to pre-sort containers, making it easier for anyone returning large volumes.

For people short on time, the depot offers a ‘tag and drop’ service where customers can leave their bagged containers for staff to process for the 10c refund.

Recyclers can receive payment of the refund direct into their bank account via reverse-EFTPOS.

As depot operator, St Vincent de Paul Society NSW receives a handling fee for every container processed, generating income that is reinvested into their community support programs and services, such as food assistance, financial aid and homelessness support.

Wyong Return and Earn Depot is located at 9 Lucca Road, Wyong. It is open daily between 9 am to 4.30 pm.
